The Common Bird

A male Downy Woodpecker came to visit my suet feeder this morning. He was soon joined by a couple of House Sparrows

I took these photos at the base yesterday morning. I was so dazzled by the beautiful blue and white water and ice! I could not have asked for a more gorgeous backdrop. And of course I could sit and watch the geese for hours. They are so elegant and graceful

I was so excited to catch this gal! A male started coming around a couple of weeks ago – but not very frequently. And I was never able to catch him with the camera. Also his first appearance was my first sighting of a Downy Woodpecker – Ever!

I got a visit from some juvenile starlings this morning. This one in particular though seems to have the run of the place

I found that this little gal had a cheeky look on her face. I rather enjoy it!

I know that this picture is sort of awful, but it was my first personal sighting of a Stellar Jay I grabbed my camera as quick as I could but wasn’t quick enough to get the kind of photo this bird deserves.
